I made a wii2600 forwarder on the Wii u for the app on vWii, Wii2600. basically, Wii2600 is a native (libogc) port of Stella 2.7.2. Stella is a multi-platform Atari 2600 VCS emulator released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Stella was originally developed for Linux by Bradford W. Mott, however, since its original release several people have joined the development team to port Stella to other operating systems such as AcornOS, AmigaOS, DOS, FreeBSD, IRIX, Linux, OS/2, MacOS, Unix, Windows and now, On Wii And Wii U!

No, not really (saying not really if you have the wii classic or classic pro controllers, i think those work too but i didnt check). But it is a quick shortcut to the wii2600 channel, if I knew how to add gamepad controls i would, good question though MikaDubbz!
