I believe no difference should be made between scrubbed and unscrubbed, they are functionally identical and should be counted under the same number. Every original dump is unscrubbed, so a scrubbed release means that the unscrubbed version has been dumped and can be uploaded if required.

But honestly, nothing of importance was removed from this release. And a single layer disc is cheaper and writes faster then a dual layer. I understand scene rules are scene rules, but I rather have a faster download for the same content

Well, not applying here since original is single layer anyway, whatever it's Europea, Japan or American releases, all single layer.

Also, why would anyone wanna get this instead of PAL version? Unless they understand Jap better, but PAL play fine, nothing used, and it plays 480p on US wii.

That extra gig or 2 of space on my harddrive doesn't bother me that much, but it's enough to make me think twice.

Then the scene should consider another compression format for packing ISOs in, one that makes for little or no compressed size difference between scrubbed and not-scrubbed. That'd work wonders.

If it would work at all. The bytes scrubbed away contain data. Unused one, but data.

Until scrubbing the releases actually makes a difference in how useful it is, it shouldn't matter.
The other problem is some games may only ever see scrubbed releases, not "legit" ones, and will go unnoticed because of these stupid rules.

Oh but it does. It's more convenient to have a scrubbed release since it's faster to download. Especially noticeable here in Australia where download limits are very backwards.

What's the point of downloading an extra GB that you're not even going to use?

Scrubbing can causes issues with some games ... Mario Kart Wii, for instance

Scrubbing MKW can cause the black screen issue that some people were having when trying to install the MK channel.

To go away from the tired scrubed vs non scrubed debate. Is it possible to change the language in this release to English? If it is I would much rather get this release because of it's smaller size.

Is MKWii a DL disc? I didn't think it was...

Mario_Kart_PAL_WII-MOMENT

No rom # though and don't think there's any mention of it in gbatemp.

That's the PAL release that came out yesterday ... it's number is 0647.

It's what we've all been playing lol

Oh, and you couldn't be more wrong about it not being mentioned

Oops, nevermind. I just noticed it. Too bad mine isn't modded, got to wait for my order from Dell to come later this month.

You ordered a Wii mod-chip from Dell? What?

Hi,
Wiiscrubber1.0a couldn't deal with 3rd partition, it shows "invalid header partition 03"
(not confirm, I have PM Dack for more information)

I can open original ISO with "wiibrowsev1.0beta", but I can't open scrubbed-iso with "wiibrowsev1.0beta"

So....I suggest

If you want to use Mario.Kart.Channel, please do not use wiiscrubber1.0a.(for safety)

Yep - can confirm scrubber does not handle the 3rd partition correctly (fails on loading the TMD)
