I have a wii that has a failed disc drive - it just won't read discs. It is out of warranty. Is it still possible to install softmods and use the wii as a homebrew machine? Will it work basically the same as if the drive was working? Does anything not work in homebrew, usb, etc?

Yes, my drive is broken and everything works just fine. USB loader, homebrew channel... etc. EVERYTHING
