Since I've had my chip in my Wii (WiiKey, if you wanna know) my Wii has been making vibrating noises a lot. I used to think it was the chip, but it's far too loud for it to be that. I'm not worried and games play completely fine; I just wanna know what that vibrating is. Sometimes it's so loud that I can barely hear Animal Crossing...well, it was quiet in the first place. Hitting my Wii seems to make it stop for a short while, but then it comes back.

Any ideas?

sounds like something is hitting the disc in the drive.
try running the wii without a disc, if it still vibrates, im not sure what it is :|

If there's no disc then it doesn't make the noise.
I don't have a cooling fan.
The discs aren't scratched at all.

It won't do it with every game, only a few of them. For example, the Guitar Hero 3 disc doesn't make the Wii vibrate at all, but AC does. Strange.

I have the same problem, didn't really noticed it until a friend of mine got a modded wii. i have a d2pro and he has a wiikey v2. but his wii makes way less noise then mine wii.
i have discs that scratchs too.

Yea, then I would just do what I said awhile back, loosen the screws from the DVD drive, it doesn't have to be too much. I did it and now no more noise or vibrating.

My wii is modded in a shop and it has more problems so i'm going to return it and let them fix it.
so i will see if its quiter then.

My wii was vibrating too, after I disassembled it..
I put a little piece of paper under the drive, and it stoped vibrating, I saw some videos of lossing screws and stuff, but nothing worked, I did it and it's perfect..

There's no way I'm talking my Wii apart again. I've done it far too many times.

It only takes 5 minutes.... 13 screws.. I think opening it up is the only way you're going to get to the bottom of these annoying vibrations.

It has nothing to do with the chip. My wii makes the same noise but only for animal crossing as well. Im guessing it has to do with the game since we both share the same problem but only with ac. I have no idea whats causing it but im guessing the wii is constantly reading the disc.
