Hacking Wii Updates

I'm here to ask if the recent updates that include the wiiware and nintendo channel on your wii, can be hazardous to your modchipped wii.

As of yet, there havn't been any system software updates that interfere with any modifications, hardware or software based.

does this statement:

applies for trucha signed discs? i forgot to mention my region is PAL

Nintendo included a fix in their latest firmware that supposedly thwarts trucha signed discs, but it is not active and can't be enabled without another update.

So yes, trucha signed discs still work.
