Sorry for all the dumb questions but i've never done this before and it worrys me as i may brick the thing. Just reading through the guide and where it says install homebrew channel, dvdx [optional], & bootmii as ios & boot2 if possible. Does this mean i should try to install both or one of the 2, i was told that i should install boot2 if my wii was older than 1 year old whitch its at least 2 years. Bit dyslexic so be gentle.

your not gonna brick it.
install bootmii as ios, it'll save it on your SD card.
Then continue.
Your asking WAY TOO MANY questions, just go and do it.
You'll feel better afterwards.......
Don't forget, WE all hacked our Wii's, and we're all fine. And this was BEFORE all these guides where available

Do i install bootmii at the modify 4.2 part of the guide.
install bootmii when the guide tells you to. just follow it from beginning to end without skipping anything. I softmodded my wii with the csg also and everything went fine. Just remember to make a nand backup after installing bootmii. if you have bootmii boot2 and a nand dump, you have almost 100% brick protection so dont worry.

I have started to understand the guide for the most part but the bootmii boot2 or ios baffles me as some people say use ios anad other boot2.

Bootmii can always install as an IOS on any Wii system.

But it can't install as boot2 on every system, only the older ones.

If your Wii can install Bootmii as boot2, it's basically invincible.

My wii is at least 2 years old i'm sure so do i try to install by boot2 first. And on the guide it says in the update to 4.2 section, Run Yet Another WAD Manager from The Homebrew Channel. What manager is that, sorry about all the questions but i'm sure this is what these forums are for so people know everything they want to know before taking the plunge.

when you put the update.zip contents on your SD card, it should be the only program showing up on the homebrew channel.

Another question, in the update to 4.2 section of the guide it tell me to do the following,

Installing The Homebrew Channel & Bootmii
Run bannerbomb by going to the Settings, Data Management, Channels, SD Card & choosing yes to load boot.dol/elf
This runs the Hackmii Installer from which you should install the Homebrew Channel, DVDX [optional], & Bootmii as IOS & boot2 if possible.

But later in the modify it tells me to do the same thing. Is that because its been deleted after the update to 4.2 section.

no, its because when you first install the homebrew channel, it might be running off IOS36 which will turn the screen upside down if you apply trucha to IOS36.

so you just reinstall HBC so it can run under IOS61.

IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY DETECT YOUR BOOTMII AS BOOT2 OR AS IOS, YOU CAN TRY EITHER, BUT IT WILL ONLY DO ONE. YOU CANT F**** IT UP, OK?
FOR CHRIST SAKE, STOP BEATING A DEAD HORSE HERE.
YOU'VE HAD ALL OF US TELL YOU WHAT TO DO. GROW SOME NADS AND CONTINUE WITH THE GUIDE.
YOUR THINKING TOO MUCH.
AND ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS = YES, YES, AND YES.
YOUR NEXT POST IS GONNA BE HOW HAPPY YOU ARE WITH YOUR SOFT-MODDED WII, NOTHING ELSE, OK?

I see, thanks xzxero, and when i install bootmii boot2 at the beginning that will make my wii brick proof.
since thats a statement, not a question, i need to pipe in and say that once bootmii is installed, making a backup of your working nand and knowing how to restore it is whats going to help you in case of brick.
