Got a good deal on a used wiiU when booted I see its on 5.5.0 should I let it do a firmware update to 5.5.1 before I setup tubehax to stop updates?

5.5.0 = 5.5.1, whatever pleases you, whatever your decision, set up tubehax.

It is safe to update to 5.5.1 through the Wii U though. Also if you were in my position would you leave it on 5.5.0 or bump it up to 5.5.1?

i was in your position, i sold my 5.5.0, and purchased a 5.4.0. since u are on 5.5.0, 5.5.1 and 5.5.0 are exactly the same, 5.5.1 will let yo go online without spoofing.
