Hacking Wii U SD card problem

Hello, I have a WII U recognizes sd cards but says they have write protection (I have tried quite a few) I can continue to install games to the hard disk with wup installer so just out of curiosity something might happen if the WII U cannot write to the card?

Is the lock switch on the adapter on the upper position? If not, it makes sense that the cards are write protected.

Yes, it is on the upper position, and the cards work perfectly on my computer (I have tested normal sd and micro sd on the WII U)
