Will a Y cable work from the two back ports? Or does one need to be on a front port and one on a back port (fugly).

Grrr. Same issue here. PS4's 500GB hard drive in an Orico encloser (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M08LCXW) and this y-cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005M0ICG2) connected to a 25' extender and then a 2A USB connector to the wall (also tried just the y-cable plugged into the Wii U, both back ports).

Plugs in, spins up just fine. Wii U will not ask me to format it on its own. When asking the Wii U to format it, it attempts to and then tells me it can't. Works fine on PC, so I assume it is the USB<->SATA bridge being used (NS1066). I have tried with it formatted to NTFS, FAT32, using Windows disk management, EaseUS Partition Master Free, and guiformat. Wii U recognizes it as a USB device but can't format it. (Yes it is the only USB device connected to my Wii U).

Does anybody have success using their PS4 hard drive (HGST) with the Wii U? If so, which enclosure did you use? I'd love to not have to spend money gambling on more enclosures. Or is the y-cable I'm using not capable of accomplishing this task? And if not, which one would be?
