So I have my wii u on fw 5.5.2 U with Coldboot Haxchi + Patched SysNAND. I have the homebrew channel and some games installed using the brazilian method which work perfectly. Now my issue is that when I load a Wii virtual console game(I tried with super mario galaxy 2) or nintendont (I have a forwarder with everything preconfigured as my vwii is modded with the homebrew channel) from the wii u system menu, the tv screen goes black, the families says Wii on it for a few. seconds, then the screen freezes and I have to unplug the system and re plug it back in for it to work again. Any way to fix this?

Im getting the same issue here, particularly with the Nintendont forwarder on the wii u menu. Just leads to the wii logo, then a black screen. I made sure I was using the right nintendont, and config file on the root. A temporary fix is to launch nintendont in vWii, exit to wii u then launch the forwarder and it'll work. No idea why this fixes it.

It's bs and it's unknown what causes the black screen.

nintendont needs to be in the apps folder. I've tried the forwarder a few times, and I've never had this issue. and, I have no config file on the root either. what's the name of it unless you mean nincfg.bin?

Nintendont is in the apps folder already and what about the wii vc. I tried super mario galaxy 2 I downloaded using Wii u usb helper. I'll try @MattKimuras idea for nintendont when I get home. Will keep you guys posted. And yes its nincfg.bin

I tried in vwii to launch the homebrew channel to be able to launch nintendont and it went to the black screen. Wii games play normally. Same issue.

do you two have the latest nintendont version? I don't believe I've ever seen a black screen with Nintendont. that's using it through the wii u forwarder channel, through the homebrew channel, and through usb loader gx. I'm really not sure what the problem is though. have you tried Nintendont through a backup loader? maybe there's an option that's off.

I do yes. I cant boot my wii games from the wii u home menu either, I downloaded super mario galaxy and super mario galaxy 2 from wii u usb helper as well as the super mario sunshine that you get there as well. I also can't boot the homebrew channel from the vwii. any of those actions result in the black screen.

something may be corrupted with the vWii. you don't by chance have a theme installed for the vWii, do you?

No. Any way to fix the vwii? Cuz that definitely makes sense as to why anything with it doesn't work aside from playing a physical disk game. (I tried super smash bros brawl)

Did you read the notes on those games in Wii U USB Helper? Those were only recently added and you must supply some additional files for them to work. Namely the actual iso

Yes I did. I did all of that, and built the game. I only put mario sunshine on my wii u (that's the one where I had to build it using the iso). And for the mario Galaxy games, you didn't have to get the actual iso. That doesn't explain why I can't boot to homebrew channel channel in vwii.

about the homebrew channel - it could be that you're not using ios 58. do you have a backup of it?

No. The nintendont thread says the Vwii already has the correct ios 58. Also, launching the homebrew channel right after I modded the vwii with smashstack, it worked. I didn't do anything else to my vwii or modify ios 58.Only had the issue after installing cbhc coldboot. Tried with it uninstalled but same issue.

does anything work in the virtual wii aside from the home menu? I'm at a loss as to why you have so many issues. maybe reinstalling the homebrew channel? there's wuphax that I believe can do it or you can do the smash stack again. you said that's how you hacked it, right? I'm too lazy to read the messages above. :P this shouldn't be a cbhc problem either. I've never heard of it anyway. I have cbhc, and I have no problems running anything.

Tried the mii channel, that works, it can play disk games. Eveything else is good. Will try smashstack as thats how i hacked it before. Should I erase it first in vwii settings or just install over at with smashstack?

that I don't know. you probably need to delete it first. you might want @Kafluke to chime in again before doing this, because it's only a suggestion with no experience redoing the homebrew channel.

edit: I don't know how much he knows about the vWii though since I've never seen him talk about it.

Cyan was the person I was going to suggest as well, but I didn't think about it 'til after I posted. I don't think mentions work with edits. anyway, he definitely knows his stuff when it comes to the vWii.
