Is it at least possible?
Is it possible to connect controllers to the switch via USB and using them like a pro controller or joycons with homebrew (so we don't have to buy extra accessories)
If it's not possible at the moment, will it be possible in the future?

I guess it all depends on the bluetooth stack the Switch is using.
If we somehow get more control over horizon it sure will be possible.

I have been wondering the same thing and did some digging.
The Switch already supports USB devices as some accesoires like the Hori keyboards/gamecontroller or tatacon controllers just connect with bluetooth or USB.
So the hardware isn't really the problem, Nintendo only has added support for a number of USB devices.
Same problem for the bluetooth connectivity of controllers.
The bluetooth protocol seems to be capable of handling Wii(U) bluetooth devices but Nintendo just didn't add software support for that.

I presume someone from the homebrew scene will eventually figure out a way to add that.
The easiest way would be to use a small ARM or Arduino board to emulate a 'known' Switch USB device.
