Hacking Wii U + HDD with Wii games

I can't find the straight answer anywhere (maybe I'm not looking in the right places).

A long time ago when I modded my Wii U it was not possible to keep Wii and Wii U games on the same HDD. I was wondering if it is possible now (By Wii U I mean legally downloaded games from eshop).
I'm not an expert, but it should be possible with multiple partitions...

No you cannot.

WiiU will format the entire drive regardless of layout.

So probably looking for the 2nd HDD and a case with switch (if something like that exists) will be the solution.

I am sure there are lots of ways to skin this cat. I have older HDs (500GB) around so just slap an enclosure on it or put it in a toaster for $25 and just power on the one you want to use.

I have several toasters I use.
