Hykem has not been on GBAtemp for 9 days, so there has been no official announcement ever since, and you expect an announcement about an update that is just a few hours old? :wishful-thinking:

Precisely. Because if not, and there is a bug in the media player causing it to not exit correctly in the background (explaining why there is no video player windows on tv, top of pad, or even in the webpage anymore), it may be another point of interest. Either way it seems interesting, whether it's happening on youtube or not.

To clarify, I could only still hear the audio from the video. No video on TV, no video player above browser to close or pause etc, and no player windows in open tab (only one tab was open during the whole process). I switched to the main page of the site, opened a new stream while hearing this audio, it began to "play" the new video but froze the Wii U before loading any frames.

Kernel uses **** bug,

That basically means that it could take months for nintendo to release another update with the kernel exploit patched. So that means we should wait for IOSU as you are saying!

To be correct, we should be able to compile the OSDriver exploit into a mp4 for use on 5.4. But it's pretty likely no one will use it at that point, because it's so unstable.
