the problem is by the time 5.4 gets hacked everyone on 5.4 would be already on 5.5 lol.Hopefully by the time 5.4 gets hacked, these Homebrew apps will be stable enough. (I'm kinda glad my Wii U auto-updated.)

you already got your answer, but I'm adding a precision :Just a quick one guys. I'm gonna block the addresses on my router for the wiiu to block updates etc. Does this affect the 3ds in anyway? Thanks.

if your router can filter based on local IP or MAC, you can specify which consoles is affected by your filters.
If you want to allow 3DS but block WiiU, but your router doesn't have MAC/IP in the filter page, maybe using a proxy on your computer is a good compromise.

Sorry I don't know your router or how to set it up.Thanks, I didn't get round to it last night. I have the virgin media super hub & it does have the filter options you mentioned in advanced settings under security. I'll have a look & see what I can do. Would blocking the addresses be on the same option? There is an option to block domains but I don't think that works as I could still get on the e-shop with my 3dsd once I put all the addresses in?
Updated My Website now with Example selection.

I think it would be possible!Works perfectly!
Is it possible to add something in the homebrew that if you press the Home Button that it goes back to the Home Menu so you're not forced to turn off the Wii U or does that need kernel access?

That needs OSRestartGame access and I think it's broken. All of Relys' libwiiu osscreenexamples (assuming they work) allow you to press the home button to reboot back into the browser, and you can add it to really any homebrew. It is accessible from userspace thoughWorks perfectly!

Blinking red light means it's overheating, apparently. Same thing happened to me.I just had the most major heart attack ever! I had the blinking light on the Wii U after I turned it off, had to disable power.
Then it worked again. Is that because I had a USB plugged in?
EDIT: The USB test : Release returned -2162707 what does that mean?

Overheating from inside doesn't always mean that it should be hot from outside, at least some times.Thanks. Never had that before. But now it happened, maybe because I added my harddrive on top of the Wii, which stands on top f the Wii U lol.
I used my Wii U only for the browser tests that I just did btw. So it was on for like 10 minutes.
EDIT: The Wii U is not hot at all o.o WTF
