I bought my gateway for piracy. Homebrew is good, but piracy > homebrew.

I was going to warn you about the temper tantrum a certain member will have about YOUR opinion, but it already happened.
He also likes to comment on drama he knows nothing about.

Before Big Bro-Ahem, the mods intervene, can we agree that it's a good thing the right person(NWP) got the common key and we're 1 step closer to full-fledged homebrew?

"Modify" if you can actually load the files to test with. You still need either a kernel/IOSU exploit or an emulator to do so, but yes.

To an extent, files have been extracted, such as Hyrule Warriors, people extracted them models from that game.

At least we've been open with everything we're working on. You all have been silent since the beginning after those little snippets when you were hacking it. I'd rather others know what's going on without letting Nintendo hinder us then just going silent and expecting others to do the same work you did. It's the same attitude - "prove you're worthy and maybe we'll help you". But I digress, drama is utterly useless.

As I said, last time we were completely open, the PS3 happened. And as I said, I'm fully open to being proved wrong. But I don't think it's unfair to expect some kind of evidence of sufficient interest and skill, after the PS3 fiasco.

"Fiasco"? Are you talking about Geohot or the fact that any system above 3.55 is unhackable without downgrading?

Project M was made to make SSBB more like Melee and therefore more competitive. SSB4's already more oriented towards that crowd. So there's no point.....

I don't think it really matters at this point. That's in the past, we're looking towards the future, with spoofing Amiibos, custom game mods, and lots and lots of homebrew

I was just wondering what Marcan was referring to, wasn't planning on creating more drama for Vins to try and mock. I AM pretty excited for all the homebrew, I hope to see the return of Smash custom texture modding. That, and, uh...I don't want to say it for fear of tantrums. But you know. If we can't achieve it though, no big deal.

EDIT: Also NW, any chance of utilizing the emulation stuff built into the Wii U for our own ROM's? I need to play me some Mother 3 on the Wii U.

THIS. I've been itching to get back into custom game mods ever since the custom Guitar Hero days, though I dabbled in some LoZ:SS edits. Amiibos all in one central location would be awesome to have, too.

Custom characters in MK8 as well, I'd think. That would prob be my first project attempt. But let's not get ahead of ourselves... this is still many months off, I'm sure.

I'm talking about the fact that there is next to no worthwhile homebrew for the PS3, and most of the community revolves around warez. What little there is (the usual emulator ports, one media player, and a few games) seems to be secondary to CFWs with warez support, warez loaders, and support tools like file transfer apps, and warez is basically the first thing that came out.

But also, think that if the community was divided into those who ONLY want homebrew and those who ONLY want warez, the homebrew community would be very small, while the warez community would be very large (in comparison to each other). The more people that are interested, the more development there is; hence why there are/were few homebrew apps and much warez support.
EDIT: Point being: if failure is based on interest in homebrew vs warez, I think every console will fail with the general community.

Still, the PS3 scene is very limited in scope. I have a PS3 that can be downgraded, but it's such a hassle I don't even bother. Plus the cell processor is such a beast, it was (is, if you look at The Pinball Arcade) so hard to master.

The WiiU would be fun, like a race game where the pad is the steering wheel/dashboard. The pad and the standard hardware is the reason the WiiU would work as a homebrew platform.

Sure It will be an awesome homebrew platform! Combining vwii and native WiiU hacks --> Master homebrew platform!
