Not sure if this should go in the Wii or WiiU forum since it is vWii.

I have a 2 modded systems and I've been successful at install the Mii Channel that allows you to copy Miis to the Wiimotes.

I've done the following steps

  • Old vwii - Copy miis to a wiimote
  • Old vwii - Save wiisports data using gamesavemanager to sd card
  • PC - Copy save game from old vwii sd card to new vwii sd card
  • New vwii - Copy miis from wiimote to mii channel
  • New vwii - Restore wiisports using from sd card using gamesavemanager
  • New vwii - Launch wiisports
At this point, I get the message that some miis have been removed and when I load any of the miis their stats are reset to zero

Any advice on how to fix to this? Am I missing something? Is there an easier way? Do I need to edit something in save game?

All I've really figured out to this point is

1) The last 4 non zero bytes appear to be the checksum
2) And 0x00000008-0x0000000F probably have to do with the Wii ID.

Well, I finally figured it out, I guess.

  • Used SaveGameManagerGX to save all the Miis and Wii Sports save from the source system
  • Used NandExtract to get "/shared2/menu/FaceLib/RFL_DB.dat" from the source system
  • Open RFL_DB.data file up in a hex editor and found the order each Mii appeared in the file
  • Used SaveGameManagerGX to delete all the Miis on the target system
  • Used SaveGameManagerGX to import the Miis in the order they appeared in the RFL_DB.dat
  • Used SaveGameManagerGX to import the Wii Sports save
  • Launched Wii Sports
  • Success!
RFL_DB.dat contains both the Mii and Wii ID for each Wii, so if you change the Mii on the new system to match the new system Id, it will not match up. So, order (more likely index, so if you don't want to import one, you'll need to create one as a filler) in the db, mii id, and wii id of the mii must all match for Wii Sports to accept this Mii
