If Trucha signing with Nintendo's key.bin is likely to become useless after a future Wii System update, then it would be prudent to sign my new channel with my own Wii key, rather than a public distribution key. I would presume that a NAND dump would provide my key and that I could load it into the Trucha Signer in order to create a channel which will not be susceptible to Nintendo's likely pending fix.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Also, I don't see any options in my Wii settings panel to prevent system updates. As I recall, it is normally necessary for me to instigate the update myself. Is this the case?
Thanks
