Hi all,

I was updating some apps (HBC, Wiiflow Masterpiece set, some other homebrew tools) since I dug op my ol' Wii but after tweaking some paths in Wiiflow plugin ini files something strange happened: I was running Wiiflow, browsing GC games and suddenly the list of games disappeared, I went to Wii games and there were suddenly non there too. First I thought I messed with the settings in a bad way, but after I rebooted: still no games. So I took my USB HD to my laptop and the entire drive was wiped, only thing on there was a Wiiflow config folder. The drive still displayed available space as if it was still loaded with roms and data, but the filelist displayed non of it! (This was after I spent HOURS setting up all plugins with rom paths and matching coversets (of which many ware manually renamed!!) :-((

Since then I've tried to get it up and running again but it isn't working so well. So after messing around a bit I decided to re-softmod the entire thing, cause a lot of the online help I found referred to a different (newer) config of cIOSes. So I used this tutorial for the softmod: https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/backup-launchers/installation

It completed OK but I still can't get Wiiflow to run properly. Nor any other USB loader for that matter. The USB drive is working fine, reformatted and loaded with new stuff to test.

So probably the worst thing, while I was desperately seeking a solution I also upgraded the System Menu from 4.1E to 4.3E in WiiMOD....... I don't even remember why I had the idea this was good, I had been trying to get this thing to work all day and night and it was bout to hit 6 in the morning. So anyway, I hope someone here with the knowledge could have a look at my current config and speak some wise words to guide me a step further, or back..... Here's a SysCheck dump I just made:

OK! I fixed my shizz!
Here's what happened, some of these things are poorly documented so I will write 'em down here, hopefully to help others:

- Reformatted my USB HD to FAT32 as Master Boot Record (instead of a GUID Partition table!). Using Disk Utility on a Mac.
The GUID table made my USB files appear in Partition 2 (USB2 in WiiFlow) instead of Partition 1 (USB1 in WiiFlow) while my computer only displayed 1 partition. I stumbled upon this by checking out the File Explorer in WiiFlow's Home menu (Press Home Button once while in WiiFlow to see it).

- I installed System Menu 2.3E using WiiMOD, and just as easily I re-installed System Menu 2.1E.
Remember, I originally came from 2.1E, and never used the System Menu to update, I updated through WiiMOD and now I downgrade through WiiMOD. I would not advice to mess with this, I just accidentally happened to do so and apparently it was also easily undone this way.

- I had installed IOS249[56] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta53-alt), but this was giving me trouble with WiiFlow. WiiFlow was crashing when I set it to force load IOS 249, therefor my suspicion lead to check this IOS and reinstall it. I tried a bunch of stuff, but it finally was IOS249[56] d2x-v6 that got me back running WiiFlow smoothly. I used the official d2x installer to do this.

- Downgrading the system menu and re-installing cIOSes also deleted my Priiloader, so I re-installed it from SD from HBC.

So conclusion; apparently my Wii doesn't like d2x-v10beta52 and d2x-v10beta53-alt. It does like d2x-v6 and works fine with this in IOS 249. I tested games such as Super Smash Bros and Zelda Skyward Sword and they all ran smooth without any extra configuring.
