Hi guys, too dumb to remember settings I used before, and am overly frustrated having to constantly hard reboot my Wii in the process of figuring out.

Long story short I'm attempting to play a Multi5 (retail) backup of the PAL Wii Party on my NTSC-u Wii, 4.2, using 249 rev20. I know I have to choose my language and short of that I've attempted forcing NTSC, enabling 002 error, etc etc to no avail. I can get it to the black and white "rolling" screen in Wiiflow but thats that, nothing near perfect or playable.
I can play all new games, either region, usually with simple default settings in USB Loader GX but this one's giving me the black screen of failtardness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so sorry for the late reply but I've been extremely busy at work as of late.

I finally got around to getting Cfg USB Loader, and now I'm just retardly forgetting the settings to make PAL games work on my NTSC System and TV as I'm getting the whole black and white/rolling screen issue now.

edit: this backup just won't seem to properly load no matter what loader, settings and whatnots I use. Tried USB Loader GX, forwarder and HB app versions, Cfg loader, wiiflow, forced NTSC, anti002 on and off. Nothing. Best I can get is either the initial warning about wiimote usage and greenscreen or black and white rolling screen(which is when I don't muck with any settings.)
Extremely f**king frustrating to say the very least. I can play all other PAL backups on my system by simply clicking play, no mucking with settings. The only game I've had to mess with settings on in quite some time was Golden Eye, and I even got that one to work without issue.

maybe your dump is shit.... if you can get other non-region games to work properly, then i'd say a dump issue is a reasonable conclusion.... you say this is a retail dump; have you tried dumping it again?

furthermore: why are you buying PAL games if you're in the US on a US wii? wouldn't life just be all the easier if you matched regions?

Long story short I was living in the EU for a bit, where I purchased my first wii. I moved back to the states early this year it ended up bricking, there was no bringing it back, so I wound up getting the "black wii" with the sports bundle which happened to be NTSC.

All my dumps on my other PAL games were good, and I have tried redumping this one more than once to no avail. And with this wii being the black one I can't really make an ISO to reburn as the wii won't read the disc. >.<

I guess I'm just at a loss here, literally, and will have to suck it up and pay for an NTSC copy as the kids loved this game. Just wasn't really wanting to have to repurchase any games this late in the game as I feel the Wii's bout to fade out with the new Zelda.

If you can think of anything at all I'm not doing/should be doing aside from Forcing NTSC and running with Anti002 enabled , it'd be greatly appreciated, if not...thanks for the help anyway.

or did you have to find a used one with the lower firm ware that was not updated

I got this ps4 at launch and never updated since 9.0
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
You got a good chance of buying a used one and asking the seller how often they used or even ask for a Pic of fw and telling them not to update

Speaking of PLaystation. I see Evilnat put out a beta for PS3 CFW 4.91.2 on the 22nd.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Don't really see the point in updating it tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right, I thought about updating my PS3 CFW to 4.91, but why really, everything plays fine now. I guess for people that have already updated past 4.9 it would be helpful.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Idk if online servers are still active that would be my only thought
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I don't play it online at all, in fact, I deleted all wifi details on it once I installed CFW, so it won't connect and auto-update itself
