Hacking Wii On 3.1U

I have been out of the homebrew scene foreverrrr..

I recently bought DK Returns, it looked too good to skip out on.

Sooo, how would i go about updating my system (if necessary) and running a backup off a Ext Hard Drive.

I'm on 3.1U and have homebrew channel installed and the last USB loader i used was "CoverFloader" (spelling?)
Whats the best USB loader out right now and what cIOS' do i need to get?

Can anybody help me please??

You should check out modmii. It's made by the one and only Xflak. I can't remember where to get modmii but the link is in his signature.
