Hacking wii mod chip

Hi, I just recently purchased a Wii system brand new. I've been reading online that nintendo brought out another chipset or something that isnt able to be modded? I'm kind of clueless to what mod chip i should get and what not and if its even possible to mod. And what mod chip you'd recommend. I've been searching around but I haven't gotten much answers. Could someone shine some light? That would be great. The system just arrived today. Thank you. :]

its okay i was just a bit afriad thats all. last question, does the wii clip v4 of d2pro9 fit onto the d2c2 drive? ive been searching around and i havent found an answer. thanks.
