Hi i was wondering: I softmodded my wii and did a mess during the installation (works fine and stuff) and I want to do a cleanup or a fresh install... is it safe to format it? or is there a way of doing a fresh install?

The best thing to do is download ModMii and do a fresh softmod. Tell it your Wii is a virgin. Anything old or incorrectly installed will be overwritten/updated. Formatting could just make things worse.
fyi, ModMii uses different wording now, so telling people to tell ModMii their wii is a virgin could be a little confusing :D

@OP, just run ModMii, type "I agree", then launch the ModMii Wizard by typing "W", the rest is self explanatory

Non-slut?

My wii is a dirty whore, what should I tell modmii?
Hey, hey...not so discriminating, please.

You should tell modmii that your wii is a free spirit that doesn't want to commit to a single partner. Unfortunately, she has put her trust in not-so-trustworthy partners such as cioscorp, pimp my wii and/or various wads of unknown origin. Most, but not all, has happened without proper protection from bootmii or priiloader, because hey...you know...it just gets in the way of having fun. :P

But on-topic: it's already told more or less, but...the "wii format memory" option in the setting at best removes all unneeded things. In some cases, a firmware update does a bit of cleaning, but that's usually a half-assed job as well. Modmii simply solves this sort of thing GOOD. :)
