@Pakatus
CISO will only work on the files page. The drives pages are for working WBFS drives and WBFS folders. Only WBFS files and ISO work with loaders, so there's no point using CISO there.

To convert CISO->ISO add them on the files page and Transfer->ISO.

So on the files page..

1. Add->files
2. Transfer->ISO

Does the Add->files on File page work correctly? I tried the function to open 1 ISO file in the 0.3.4r4 and 0.3.4r5. After selecting the game and press "Open", I could not see anything in the game list. It's a little weired. My system is windows xp/sp3.

Thanks a lot!

I think the ISO is no problem, it could be loaded by WiiScrubber without any error. Actually if I use Add->folder function to add the folder where the ISO locates, the game could be listed. I transfered it to WBFS partition, and USB Loader loads it correctly.

The more weired thing is if I use Add->files function, no single game could be listed, then I use Add->folder, the function could not list anything either.

Thanks

I've figured it out. The problem was my INI file, because I used relevant directory, TempFolder=.\temp. I deleted the INI file and let WBM create a new one, everything is OK.

Thanks!

Were there any RAR files in that folder with the ISO? The temp folder is only used for extracting RARs.

I know where the problem will be now. I'll look into making the temp folder relative like you wanted too.

Edit: I found the problem. I try to make sure the temp folder exists before processing any of the files. It causes an exception if the path is invalid and bails out straight away, without showing error. I'll get it fixed.

fig, if i transfer from wbfs partition to wbfs files i get the following "access denied error" if splitted wbfs files needed:

I am using latest WBM r5. Settings: only game partition and full scrubbing mode.

Thanks for what is by far the most useful Wii game file management utility ever created
smile.gif

I've been storing full sized ISOs not wanting to trust them strictly to WBFS. After using Wii Backup Manager for a couple days I finally felt comfortable converting all the files to the smaller ISO files on an NTFS partition.

I was able to transfer all my NTSC ISOs and cISOs to one drive which left me with a couple extra 1.5TB drives
biggrin.gif
- I've had no errors and no problems to date. I must admit, however, I've never used Wii Backup Manager to mount a WBFS partition - and can safely say I don't believe I'll ever see the need to use WBFS again.

WBFS has officially gone the way of 8-track lol

Thanks again for a wonderful utility!

I've bee trying to get this program to work transferring some games, but not having any luck.

the games seem to be going over ok, and they show up on the usb drive when I launch the loader , but they won't play .
gets to the point where it says

"switching to IOS222 for FAT support.
IOS(222)nload ..[FAT] ... "

and then it just hangs there.

if I copy the game to the USB drive using the USB loader with a disc , the game works fine .

anyone got any ideas as to why its not working?

I did it as instructed on the first post of this thread

"Select the "Drive 1" tab.
Click "Drive" menu, select your drive.
Select the "Files" tab.
Click "Add" and select "Files..". Select your ISOs, CISOs, RARs, .wbfs in the dialog.
In the files list, tick all the items you want to transfer to the WBFS drive.
Click "Transfer" and select "Drive 1".
Done."

Update:
If i open the splitted wbfs file, i get the following error:
(WBFSPartition.OpenFromHandle) Invalid HD sector count. Try enabling force mode.

With r4, transfering large iso's form wbfs to wbfs file works fine. In r5 it's broken ...

quick questions:
1. theres no way to extract a real game image with this right and its easier just to "install from disc" using a loader?
2. is there an easy way to download all missing cover art? can this implementation be added anytime soon?
3. do i need to transfer the games in .WBFS format or can i transfer the .ISO and the game will read?
4. is it generally faster to "install from disc" on a loader or to use a manager like this or wfbs?
5. do i need to change any paths for my loader gx to play the games?

thanks!

@WiiNero & everyone else too..
Damn, the read-only stuff I added to r5 breaks writing to WBFS files. I forgot that the first file is re-opened to write the header after being trimmed. It's re-opened as read-only so you get an "access denied" error. What a twat I am.

@drcrappants
1. Unless you have the needed PC drive, it's best to consider original Wii discs to be readable only on the Wii.
2. I'll be implementing it as soon as I can. There's always something that crops up to delay that part.
smile.gif

3. .wbfs works on FAT32 and NTFS, ISO on NTFS only due to the 4 Gig limit on FAT32.
4. For using backups the PC is probably faster, Wii for original discs.
5. I'm not sure. You do need IOS 222 v4 though, like WiiNero said a few posts back.

    @Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
