Hacking Wii backup Manager for Windows

I have installed all games on an external USB Drive, and now want to replace that drive with a bigger one.. Do i have to do the whole procedure from the beginning (create partition, format, copy all games) OR is there a way to CLONE that drive to another one???

Mainly worried about my saves in the games.. Are they saved in the Wii or on the HDD drive???

hey guys, just to keep u in the loop, I just tested the new beta version for fig2k4 (0.3.1-test1), and I think he's worked out all the bugs! So just be patient a little while longer and the next release will blow your socks off!

The only problem I can see now is that it'll suffer the same problems as wbfs_file etc. with the invalid update partitions, caused by mod chips. But as oggzee already said, in those cases just copy the game partition only.

I'll need to wait until the bloody X-Factor is finished before I can get access to the Wii to play test

but hex comparisons are looking OK.

still getting the error with drive to drive, but when the games extracted from the WBFS drive to ISO then to FAT32 it transfers ok but the hash is different aswell as the game size 1GB to 988MB

The difference in size is probably just due to the fact that WBFS files use a smaller WBFS block size than the large WBFS drive.

The functions I'm using now are the tried and tested AddDisc() that's used for anything related to adding discs to WBFS drives and WBFS files, along with a direct translation of the wbfs_read_disc() from libWBFS.

There could be some sort of integer overflow or something that could cause it though, in the new code. I've had a couple of them before that I didn't notice straight away.

its not a big deal for me at the mo as now im transfering ISO to .wbfs, the WBFS to .wbfs was only because i had no ISO to tranfer at the time(burned to DVD as a second backup), but once fixed would be great for any other problematic transfers

I had to make some more changes for when .wbfs is saved to the same folder as the source etc.
The progressbars will be off a little, but at least it'll transfer uninterrupted now, I'll fix the progress soon.

I've also disabled the hash checking in this version because I haven't had time to fit it in with the new functions yet. I really want to come up with a standard hashing function that will work regardless of where the Wii disc is stored. ie. CISO,ISO,WBFS would all produce the same hash because the same disc data is being hashed.

If I get it working like I want, the database would be possible. But it would mean a lot of hassle for other people to support it, since it requires changes to libWBFS to copy 1 Wii sector at a time.

Here's a test version to use ISOs on NTFS.

Just mount an NTFS drive and transfer files as usual. By default, ISO is used on NTFS. If you untick the box in settings, then you can use .wbfs just like before too, on NTFS.

I'm guessing the drive detection. That could be worked around by using the drive letters instead of using the volumes, ie. The simple drive detection I mentioned a few days ago. I need to re-implement that anyway, so it works on wine.
