... huh? Is it sarcasm or could it really happen? If you power off you 3DS in the 0.00001 second of the installation, maybe it can brick.

Plenty of successful installs here too. Like, a TON. But I also know someone who bricked with OTP-less while I was guiding him through it. He had everything set up correctly. It seems rare, but it does happen. More often than the old 2.1 method it seems.3 successful otpless installed..
I have one New 3DS LL bricked when doing optless follow this guide, no backup nand.bin. So can I fix it? I will do hardmod, but don't have nand.bin to write. Anyone help me?
There's an explanation about the cause of the OTPLess brick ?
This. Also it was removed because 5-10 little pansies decided to cry wolf even though the guide warns about possibility of brick.
How do you not have a NAND.bin, the guide specifically has you create one and back up to computer! Sell it for parts, now it's useless.

I have done 3, moving on to my 4th because I'm not chicken sh*t to keep with a method of <5% brick rate
It was removed from the guide because the brick rate was indisputably higher than the 2.1 ctrtransfer, and the 2.1 ctrtransfer isn't that big of a hassle to warrant increasing your brick chance to avoid.
OTPless is nice. When it doesn't randomly brick people, it will be an awesome achievement. It doesn't seem fully there yet.
no, your screwed, and honestly anyone skipping the nand backup steps is just begging for troubleI have one New 3DS LL bricked when doing optless follow this guide, no backup nand.bin. So can I fix it? I will do hardmod, but don't have nand.bin to write. Anyone help me?
Not sure if you are in the same GBATemp as I am in because every time *something* bricks, GW always gets shit on regardless of whether it is related or not. It's always name-calling and pitchfork galore. As for A9LH, there was a time when the elitism was just downright terrible with all the masterrace-ing and what have you. And then there's the Menuhax guardians and the order of RXTools.This.
If Gateway bricks, people will rally together to defend Gateway no matter what. If [OTPless] A9LH bricks (far fewer people), then people whine about it and attack A9LH.
Installing A9LH (or even downgrading for any reason) always carries a (small) risk of bricking. To be honest, I find it disappointing to see so much anti-OTPless—or even anti-A9LH—rhetoric and fear mongering.
I don't think that is an apt comparison because there is significant benefit of one option over the other. The thing is that the risk isn't reduced that much when we account for human error (which was almost null with OTPLess method).
Here are some stats for the US:
Odd of dying in car crash 1/113
Odd of dying in pedestrian accident 1/672
Let me ask you this, do you walk everywhere?
1 successful 1 brick for me so that's 50/50...3 successful otpless installed..

In these two pages, I have yet to see anything remotely vitriolic. The arguments are presented in a civilised manner at the very least. It's all about risk minimisation which I feel is a responsible thing to do. If you want to do down the OTPless route, knock yourself out. Nobody is saying you can't. It's the ones who know next to nothing who should be given the safest possible option.

Something more suitable would be the difference in odds of dying in a red car vs that in a blue car. If one is repeatedly higher than the other AND there is no sound explanation as to why it happens, would you still pick the one that presents with the elevated risk?
Yes you will have to downgrade 9.2 then ctrtransfer to 2.1When Slowhax releases I will be installing A9LH on my N3DS XL, that means I have to downgrade to 2.1?
(BTW, my siblings just like to close my 3DS/DS lite/DSi if they find it open just because reasons)
