Hacking Why is Softmii the best for backups?

Well you see, the way this team has been acting about the loader and stuff just makes one think that they could indeed be hidding a lot of stuff from the scene. But ah well, not everyone is the same...

anyway, softmii isnt a hack it self. its a package of the best hacks. cioscorp is THE hack (along with cios36rev7) that actually allows booting of backups, but i think that has already been explained. so, really cioscorp is the best for backups. just pop the disc in and play the damn thing.

truthfully, the best FOR ME is the backup loader FOR NOW. so far, i'll stick with it since its easier for a coder like me XD i can edit it at least...

I"m glad that many people miss the whole point of SoftMii. Then this will stay with the selected few who are really into more then just playing Wii games on the Wii. Control is what I like. Also the ability to launch what ever I want when I boot up my system is a plus. Then there is CrazyIntro as the name states I can play a short crazy intro and then I have the option to boot the systemmenu or the HBC. So continue to just play your Wii games and make hundreds of new treads like "I get a black screen when I insert the game disc", "My little bro/sis updated my Wii", "I installed a wad I found on the ground and it BRICK my Wii".
I'll just get my popcorn and enjoy the movie.

Let's hava a closer look of your arguments:
Updating accidentally Wii - shouldn't backuploader and starfall also prevent this?
Black screen - You are referring to what on this comment? Backuploader being less compatible? If I undestood correctly, we are talking about few games only in this category
Wad installing - how does softmii prevent better bad wad? If you have starfall you should be able to start wad manager and delete it...my guess is it is similar with softmii only it uses preloader hack to do the same

So looking at above points, only argument making softmii better would be higher compatability, am I correct?
I don't see disc channel loading as a big deal - backup channel is not that difficult.

I will consider softmii when such software pops up that I really want and can't play it using HBC/Backuploader/Starfall combo.

Not really, people's friend/sibling has been known to update your Wii from the settings or the message board.

Softmii can prevent bad wad, through preloader. I can remove a bad wad now without buying a fucking gc controller that I know I won't be using for game anyway.

Hmm - Games that require specific IOS and do not run in backuploader are still a small minority, I guess.

Softmii can prevent bad wad, through preloader. I can remove a bad wad now without buying a fucking gc controller that I know I won't be using for game anyway.

Hmm - I have gamecube so no problem to use starfall.

kinda off topic but I really need some help,
I have SoftMii Installed w/Wiigators cIOS and mIOS v8
I want waninkoko's mIOS, so do I just install over the old one?
or is there a certain way to uninstall this?
any help would be greatly appreciated....

P.S. I have the original RVL-mios-v8.wad, just in case....
