There are a couple reasons:

1. WW2. Germany started it, Germany lost it. Which isn't bad, because Third Reich sucks ass.
2. 3DS games are expensive here. Good games cost 35-45€ ($42-55).
3. 3DS consoles are also really expensive. Look it up on amazon.de.
4. Aint no one got money fo dat!

Come on Gateway!
1. What the..?
2. Yeah, that is pretty normal. Developers are humans too, you know?
3. You think that thing is "expensive"? Look at the Washing mashines they got!
4. Gaming is an expensive thing. No one forces you to buy any of that stuff.

Get a job - problem solved. : )

Funny, because I often buy games and hardware from amazon.de to save money, here in Ireland.

happens :P

Lol, one parade example of a German. Complaining about everything. When I was a child I paid 120 Mark (which now is about 60€) for Pokémon Stadium 2 the day it was released. And I was damn proud to own this game!

And I'd rather buy my 3DS-Games (even though I already have a Gateway), because I know a good game when I see one. And the 3DS has plenty of them. I bet this guy has no money anymore, because he spent 60€ on that unfinished AC:Unity. :D

Hitler would have bought games. Would you be like Hitler, GBATEMP?

That's one way to put it. :D

Stop crying, there is no -NEED- (as if it was a primary necessity) for Gateway, even less in Germany.
Games expensive? not a chance, yes Nintendo games are around €44 new, but anyone can afford that.
Hell, I have a pitiful half time job as a HiWi, and I can pay my studies, my rent, buy 3DS games and do things related to real life.
You make it sound as if there were -real- economical problems in Germany, and there are not.
Now, if you speak about Region Unlocking, I agree, that would be welcome.

Real reasons for a Gateway in Germany:
1. Fuck ATLUS
2. Fuck Niponnichi
3. Fuck Marvelous AQL/XSEED
4. Fuck everyone else that takes eons to bring a fucking game to EU, and that is when they happen to bring it.

Germany may have lost but they lost with style. Hugo Boss designed the best uniforms of the war.
