...its Gamepass service? No one wants to not own their games. People don't want to be robbed of their games whenever Microsoft decides so.

Why can't they just return to making hardware and games for it that you can actually buy and not rent access to?

Kind of a weird argument. Why not just buy the games you want then? No one is forcing you to use Game Pass instead of buying your games.

No one wants to not own their games.

You'd be surprised. Plenty of people don't care about not having perpetual access to games; they play it once, then move on to the next thing.

I am a gamepass hater; I actually do want perpetual access to my games and I view it as unsustainable and unhealthy. But there is a market for it.

Because they're really, really, really, really bad at it. I mean, technically they never stopped making hardware and games you can buy outright, but the reason they're going all in on gamepass is that it is the singular bright spot in the entire xbox brand. Their business decisions outside of gamepass are bafflingly terrible,.

The average person doesn't care, have you ever heard someone hating on Netflix because they don't own the media? They watch it and move on, that's the point
