Man this is all my fault, I was going into the browser when I realized that I forgot to rename Hourglass9 to start_Hourglass9.bin. So I pressed home to go to the home screen and it froze. I forgot to take the SD card out before I did that and now it is stuck on the screen showing to get back to the home menu. Please keep in mind this is an Old 3ds on 2.1.0 :( Do I turn it off and hope for the best...?

Ok.. Ok I tried the test one again and it worked :) Ok but luma won't boot

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Did you copy the luma binary to /arm9loaderhax.bin on the root? What happens if you hold select?
I think I did and when I hold select, it just turns off.

I know its not bricked which is nice

you need to finish the guide and put the luma files on the sd card, root should have arm9loaderhax.bin than launch hourglass9 by holding the start button and restore nand.

It's not staying on because it's not detecting arm9loaderhax.bin as r00t

Ok now it booted to luma. Which is very weird because I just put my file back on again. But I will continue :D

root of sd card should have the following.

Folders

3ds
cias
files9
luma

misc files

arm9loaderhax.bin
boot.3dsx
ntr.bin ( if using NTR as well. )

There is nothing weird about it, you simply did not have the files on the sd card.

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you can't properly scale 240p games
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
720, 1440 and 2160 can scale them just fine
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
    huh. never realized that
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
the only common low-res (which is not even that common in games) you can properly scale to 1080 is 360, but even that can also scale to 720
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
when I'm playing emulators I just stick to 720, if I had a 1440p or 4k screen I would prefer those over 1080p
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
My monitor is 1440p now after years upon years of using 1080p. I don't notice much of a difference except that it makes everything smaller and harder for me to read
