You are out of luck since this seems to be an obscure case... Just one last thing that probably you have done already, but asking never hurts... Have you tried to check the activity log after removing the DS Profile hack? this is done by booting a DS game.

I have not done this, no. I will try it.

Oh. And Friend List thing is broken too. Just sits on "friend list" on the bottom screen.

Was playing Dream Team Bros, and was going to turn off my 3DS. Before I did I home,closed then went to activity log to check average play time for it.

Stopped working blah blah contact nintendo if it happens again blah blah.

Turned it on, it stayed on a black screen for a minute so I turned it off and on again, in which case it did work. Everything worked except activity log, which sits on a spinning thing on the bottom screen and the walking guy on the top.

BAsically as how I described it in the OP.

Sounds like the data for the app is corrupted, so it won't be able to load.

I would not recommend factory resetting your 3DS and depending on EmuNAND for your eShop purchases et cetera. What if some day you are no longer able to run the emunand, either because the Gateway was blocked or for some other reason. You would lose all your eShop purchases.

After looking at installed software ont he 3DS, I noticed an app with a ? mark and 0 blocks used. This is only new recently. I am afraid to delete it however.

What is this? I can post pictures if needed.

If you only noticed it after your activity log went kaput, I'd get rid of it. I've never had or heard of that kind of app.

Corrupted or improperly made software. I deleted one on a Wii before. Not saying it's the same for 3DS though.
