Which y splitter uk?

Hey guys
I am considering to use an external usb drive for the vwii games

The drive has a standard usb male connector required which cable connector would I need to use?
Links would help

Also what is best practice?
My wiiu games are on an external usb drive with a caddy and is powered via plug
Where would i plug thjs in the back of the console like where it is?

Ie whats the idea configuration wrt the front and back ports for having both drives connected at the same time? Thanns

Im thinking perhaps it would be better to use an older 2.5inch drive with micro usb
Rather than an elements usb 3.0 drive

wd elements is pretty good. it's on the other side of my entertainment center using at least one extension cable. it's only frozen twice during a game, and that's after at least 5 years of use, playing daily. it uses a y-cable, but I think that might be part of the extension cable. the normal drive itself is usb 3.0, so it uses that one double rhombus plugin. you can tell what's usb 3.0, because it will be blue inside the usb part of the cable. wii u can't use usb 3.0, but that's about all you can get anymore anyway. it's bc obviously.
