So I'm sure this is an age old debate, mostly the posts I've searched up are six months to a year old so looking for an updated opinion. It seems like getting a PSP can be sort of problematic... Like from what I can tell the 1000 is sort of just obsolete at this point, the 2000 has some miserable ghosting issues that might make some games look weird, some movies unwatchable even, and the 3000 with those scanlines just looks awful. Now I am basing this on posts and news links that seem to want to discuss short comings not triumphs, are these issues exaggerated? If not or even if so what PSP version seems to be the most popular at this point in time? Thanks!

All the issues are exaggerated, I'm pretty sure ghosting also occured on the PSP-1000s, but honestly it is so minor you wouldn't even be able to notice it. I don't even notice it.

With the PSP-3000 scanline issue, same thing. You'd have to be holding the PSP right infront of your eyes to see them.

Thanks, I dunno if I wanna go this route yet, but 3000 won't allow CFW correct? I hear the only way to tell with 2000 is by looking at the box sticker, are there any other ways, if I want to like order online?

i'd say the scanline issue is overrated, and the ghosting probably makes the picture look worse than the scanlines do. so 3000 would be better than 2000 imo, but unhackable as of now

3000 will be hacked eventually, but for now stick to the 2000. Ghosting is much less noticable then the 1000 (even then it's nothing) and is much easier to hack. Never had any issues with screen quality my 2000.

Alright, I guess this pertains more to people in the US (like me), but have any of you got a 2000 recently, because Im afraid if I go anywhere like a gamestop or whatever that there is no chance of finding a new 2000 with the old motherboard. Any pointers on this would be sweet. (The ghosting issue is something along the lines of the image not being able to keep up with speed, seems especially bad in dark areas, and will like leave almost a trail behind of the pixels when you move)
