If by trimming you mean what roms can have the 00 or FF's taken I would say nearly all (a few want the final few 00's or FF's left there so you can just add a 0c or something and have it work again.
A few GBA roms (namely a few 256 roms and the odd early dump) have the last few bytes as useless junk which you can delete too.

If you have EZ4 you don't have to worry about this, the client automatically size the rom down to smallest possible size when converting games. There are no options to troubleshoot, click and go.
