Actually tried that the other day, it felt just soo clunky w/o out all the automated way points and so on.

ATI Radeon HD 5670

IceQ version is on Tigerdirect for $80. Runs so cold that it cools my other components. Great for performance, even if it's shoved up against a wall under a desk.

BTW, it runs Dolphin on any game at MAX (and I mean MAX) settings, where my Core i3 (3.06GHz) has become the bottleneck! And that's on UBUNTU!

EDIT: FYI, Ubuntu has to use OpenGL, which is crippled on ATI cards. The 5670 overpowers that with raw speed!
