Hi community. So I just bought a new switch SN:XAW100576 I have looked up this SN and it says it's safe and unpatched. The stock FW is sitting at 4.1.0 should I update to a newer FW then flash my CFW? I believe I will be going the fusee route this will be a offline only switch so is fusee able to rip game carts to SD or is nsp only available through download? I have been looking around this forum to find answers but with no luck I have also read through the walkthrough on guide.sdsetup which seems to be unavailable now. So I read through the tutorial on here switch hacking 101 how to launch Homebrew on any FW. They both seemed a little outdated to me being that they have both not been updated in a while. If someone could please send me in the right direction much appreciated.

If the switch should be offline only, you should not update it officially, but
a) make a NAND backup
b) use a CFW (you don't really "flash" it, there is no permanent CFW and there will most certainly never be one for anything beyond 3.0.1, and even for <= 3.0.1 it is unlikely)

Yes, you can rip game carts, but not from fusee, but by the homebrew dump tool of your choice (e.g. gcdumptool).
NSP is available through download, but you can also convert XCI (game cart dumps) to NSP.

Not much has changed in the last 8 months regarding installing CFW, so even if the guides are old, you can probably still use them. The only thing which is new is that you have to use choidujournx to install newer firmware instead of choidujour.

No, you should flash CFW first and then update. Because if you run CFW on 4.1.0, you can update without burning fuses so you can downgrade later on to 4.1.0 if you need to. Look here how to run CFW: https://guide.sdsetup.com/. You can update to any firmware with ChoiDujourNX after you have installed CFW.

This is the site that I was referring too which is unavailable now.

Also read this writeup about AutoRCM since turning off console is different when you have it enebled and do not wanna discharge in RCM mode. https://gbatemp.net/threads/autorcm-with-the-nintendo-switch-101.515402/
