iv recently had my wii chipped but i cant remember which chip he used, all i can remember is that he said he used to use wiikey but he cant get them no more, so now hes using a chip that is currently at v1.9, can anyone tell me an idea of what chip has been used?

Maybe YAOSM.
1.9 is a now slightly outdated version. Current stable release is 2.0 and 3.0 is upcoming

whats YOASM? and if i have this, am i able to update the firmware without any big amount of cables from my computer to my wii? or having to pay again

YAOSM is an open source mod chip. To update it, you'll have to have a programmer.

Why don't you just open up your Wii and find out what chip is in it?

because i dont have a tri-wing screwdriver
