This time of year again is it
I actually reset my firefox setup the other week (save for porting my bookmarks over)

Right now it sits at

UK English dictionary (I flick between US and UK English for various reasons)
Tabmixplus -- pinning, marking, protecting, locking, restoring, auto reload. Just good all round really.
Requestpolicy -- stops things from being loaded that are not on the site in question.
Noscript -- stops javascript from running and fakes it where necessary in a lot of cases. Stops flash objects from being loaded and would do java as well but I refuse to have it on my systems.
Blitzableiter (noscript external addon) -- scans flash objects and sanitises them/blocks them if it thinks they are bad (it is a bit heavy handed though).
Adblock plus
Download helper -- downloads from a lot of video sites.
Ghostery -- if people are not so amenable to noscript I find this a good compromise. That it took the place of my cookie blockers is just an added bonus.
Firebug (and just firebug -- I am not fiddling with the other niceties and it does well for what I need) -- rewrite websites in real time. Now I stuck myself with being a web type for people and still find sites coded badly this allows me to change things and get on with stuff rather than staring at code all the time.
Greasemonkey -- allows scripts to be added to websites to change their appearance or add new functionality.
Scripts wise
Savetube (mainly to download from blip as I can not be bothered to work out how to dodge their anti adblock efforts properly)
Yousabletubefix -- it has a downloader, should block comments, blocks adverts and resizes videos
Unique youtube skin -- it sorts things out so youtube looks quite nice and is helping me out as I wait for yousabletubefix to update so as to block comments again.
Better usenet -- adds a few nice extras to usenet indexers.
IMDB add rotten tomatoes. Not sure why, I have not added the IMDB pirated or something like it back in either.

All things to do with security are set in paranoid modes

Search wise I have wolfram alpha, the register and UK, US and Japan amazon (mainly for quick price checks and grabbing boxart for releases) in addition to the standard set.

why CometBird, any advantages? from the looks of it, its like firefox with some addons and thats it.

Well, CB was the first browser I used (excluding IE) when I got my internet connection for the first time. With a slow net like the one I had back then, CB was working slightly faster than any of the browsers I tried (and I remember I tried a lot of browsers to see which one's faster). Right now, I just use it because I'm simply used to it, and the built in video downloader and bookmark synchronizer are rather handy. I'm way too lazy to search for the best add-ons myself. Also, still works faster than FireFox (kinda on par with Chrome, even beats it at how fast it loads a youtube video, but that's just for my net), and definitely more stable, even though it wasn't updated in ages...

Other than that, dunno any other technical advantages over FF, so, just call it a personal preference.

I don't use any because doing so causes my terminally ill netbook to have a serious breakdown and cry in the corner instead of finishing my downloads.
