Where is the text file in Pokemon D/P? I don't want to edit it I just want to do a hack for the new Pokemon game that is like the same (with files too.) So all I'm doing is copying over the text from the old game to the new game, get it?

    Thank you!

    P.S. Wheres my Googleing guy?

I believe the text is in msg.narc. However, the easiest way to edit this is to split it up into individual .bin files. narctool doesn't work because the Pokemon games don't label the individual .bin's within the narc archive. I read that there's a version of narctool that was made compatable with Pokemon, but I've had no luck getting it to work.

Thank you. You will get your name on the help list if this works.

EDIT: Doesn't work for me... But thanks. Anyone else?

Any luck unpacking the file? I ended up using Tahaxan to read the offsets and I played around with the hex. The problem is, the text is encrypted. There were some tools floating around to decrypt the text, but they no longer seem around.

If you know WHERE the data is, you don't have to bother with encrypting/decryption. You can just copy and paste the HEX right over.I found a forumpost in which someone was trying to translate the intro. He happened to mention where it was located, and I did a C&P with DP to Platinum just to test.

    This is my result:
