Yeah i'd rather be in their "walled garden" then play with hackers left right and center on PC.
So goodluck.
It's only $20/yr though. I think it's very reasonably priced, and I don't mind paying for it IF it means their servers are actually decent so that there aren't constant connection problems and lag. Their previous systems were plagued with online lag.Was going to get one until they announced pay-2-play online. Automatic deal-breaker. I skipped all XBOXs and PS4 strictly for that reason.
If they get rid of that and come out with more games, I'll consider it.
An iPad is not a replacement for a proper game console. No dedicated controls, 99.9% of the games are trash and most of the last 0.1% is just ports of old games.Never, weak-hardware, standard first party games.
Only game is BOTW & id never spend £300 on a console for one game. It's not like the PS3, I had that on launch in the U.K. Motor storm & resistance. Best at the time, but we also had the 360, which I also had. Cracking games. Just like now, Xbox one and ps4 have a great library so far, I don't know why anyone would buy a switch right now. Weak library, old hardware and the library that will drive the console is first party only. Respawn said, would titanfall 2 ever come to the switch, their response was "f**k no!!". The hardware is just far too weak, it's not like back in the day, the wii was completely different, compared to 360 and PS3. If you want a portable console now, you might as well just buy an iPad. At least it has a far better library, indie and proper classics like GTA 3 all the way to San Andreas.

If you prefer those kind of games then that's fine, but the whole reason dedicated game consoles still exist is because the games on them are simply better.
In what world is Breath of the Wild not a proper full AAA game?Just because dedicated games consoles exist, doesn't mean it will hold a great library. The VITA as an example. Before you say, if you want old games and JRPG games, that it is the go to device.. But other than that, it isn't. The switch is the exact same. If you don't want new games to try and push the hardware, like the new red dead redemption, or mass effect. then buy a switch, if you want to play proper full AAA games (and I don't just mean AAA branded games like Mario). Then get a PS4 or Xbox one.

Even though by definition it is a AAA game, it doesn't match their opinion of what a AAA is and thus isn't a AAA game. Because that's apparently how the world works now. If it doesn't fit your personal opinion of how it is, then it isn'tIn what world is Breath of the Wild not a proper full AAA game?
Even $1 is not reasonably priced. It should be free. Read some of jimbo's posts, he explains it better than I do. Paying Nintendo for online is a scam, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. You are literally paying them for nothing. They have nothing to do with connection problems and lag. That's all based on your network settings, internet connection, and distance from the people you are playing with. I don't have any sources for this, but I'm willing to bet money that the reason some people complained about Nintendo's online was because the majority of players weren't the type of people to have high speed internet connections (e.g. children who got a Wii or Wii U as a gift and their parents don't know anything about technology). If you played someone locally that you knew and they had good internet, there were never any problems. It's only $20/yr though.
