i do compulsive NAND back ups. i've got a bunch of dif SD cards, few not compatible with bootmii. in my experience SanDisk SD never seem to have a problem with bootmii. try one of those.

I wish Bootmii would probe USB for devices at boot time. The directory could reside on USB device, and NAND dump/restore to the USB device. Don't know if it has the proper module built in for it and it would be slower than SD/SDHC like HBC USB access is.

SanDisk 2gb SD cards are sold in packs of 2 for 14.99 here. And SanDisk has never failed me, not once EVER!

I'm guessing a new Bootmii will come out when the authors of the software feel comfortable releasing a new version. Whether or not this new version has any improvements to SD functionality is anyone's guess. Why don't you PM Team Twizers and ask them. They would be the only ones to know.

While you are PM'ing them ask them when they will make the Wii Levitate. My Wii sits close to the end of the table and has been knocked on the ground a few times by people bumping into it. If the Wii had ANTI- gravity effects it would simply "float" in the air. This way I could be sure that it wont get damaged.

Your Wii does not Levitate ? You must be missing the ever so important "cIOS360_Levitate_module_rev14d.dol" on the root of your SD card. Once you run that, you will need to strap a barbell onto your Wii, or it will simply float away.

Good Luck !

It's not really Bootmii itself that has the compatibility issues. From their site:

Why does my SD card work in the Installer / HBC, but not in BootMii (or vice-versa)?

libogc and MINI use completely different sets of code to talk to SD cards, so a card that works in one may not work in the other. For reasons unclear, MINI does not work with a random 25% of all SD cards; we are constantly striving to increase compatibility, but in the mean time you might want to try another card.

So, it's likely that MINI will have to be improved in order for BootMii's SD compatibility to increase. Besides, you are complaining to the wrong people. We don't develop Bootmii here. You'd be better off bringing your complaints to the BootMii section of the http://forum.wiibrew.org/"" target="_blank">WiiBrew forums.

Wow, people really hate to have questions asked here. I think the original poster was just saying that he has 2 incompatible SD cards, and was wondering if anyone knew if a new version of Bootmii might possibly maybe be coming out, that anyone knows of, and if it would have better SD compatiblity. I think the best answer is what sl33p just gave about the difference between libogc and MINI... I think that, and "nobody knows anything about an upcoming release" would have sufficed.
It was a question. If you read the initial post, he's asking a question... not complaining. It seems that everytime someone has a question about something, people automatically assume "I have no trouble with that, he must be an idiot" instead of actually trying to help answer a simple question.
After he asked his question, the basic response was "there's nothing wrong with bootmii. You're wrong. You suck", so I added how i also had trouble with SD compatibility. I wasn't complaining either. Nobody's complaining. A question is not a complaint.
Chill out.

Although development on Bootmii is still going, I suggest you try a different SD card. I recently bought one @ Hema. A micro SD card 2 gb in size (in an orange packaging I think, blister / clamshell). Hema branded. None of my other cards worked but that one works like a charm

QUOTE(WalkerOfTheDay @ Jul 28 2009, 05:48 PM) You could try formatting with SD formatter. Download here:

Got bootmii working. Thanks guys.

First I tried to use the panasonic SD formatting program. To no avail.
Secondly I found out that one of my cards actually worked with bootmii beta 1. So I was able to do a NAND dump.
But I didn't like the fact that you can't set BOOTDELAY in beta1.
So I went off to HEMA bought a 2GB SD card @7,50 and I'm in bootmii heaven right now. (the card does what Scorpei promised).

Now I can safely brick my Wii.

Still curious though when a new Bootmii release wil come out and if it will have better SD card compatibility.

Could to hear you fixed it. Strange that the link isn't working. It's working for me..

The link worked. But formatting my SD card with the panasonic program didn't fix the compatibility issue.
I will hold on to the program though. Might come in handy some time.
