3DS - 7th April 2011

Just a topic to find out if people actually remember the days when they buy a console/handheld (Nintendo ones that is)

i don't remember the exact dates of getting DS Lite but it was in Summer of 2007 DSi i got around September of 2009 and 3DS i got on March 27th which was launch day.

I bought my 3DS on March, 27th, 2011 (Midnight release)

Might as well include my other stuff too:

Nintendo DS - 12/25/2004 (My mom got it the day after launch, but I had to wait until Christmas)
Nintendo DS Lite - Around July of 2006 (Came out around June, and I wasn't going to upgrade. When I played my friend's I decided to upgrade around 2 months after it came out).
Nintendo DS Lite#2 - Not sure. Found it on a cruise the summer of 2007.
Nintendo DSi - April 5th, 2009 (Midnight release)

I would have been content with using my DS for another year or two, but its battery life is something like 20 minutes. I have yet to even buy a 3DS game, and I probably won't until something good comes out.

I bought my DS Lite roughly 2 years ago and I'll buy my 3DS in about a year, seeing as there are aprox. 5 titles as of now in the games library including the not released yet ones that I'm fairly interested in.

I don't get the whole "Launch" hype. Who cares if you have a 3DS or not when you can't play any fun games on it? It's like having a Ferrari in your garage that gobbles so much petrol that you never use it.

I also had some plans of getting a DSi XL, seeing that for me "Bigger is Better". Not sure when that'll happen, since there's absolutely nothing amusing in having a DSi. I just want it as a collector's item.

Yeah, 20-25 minutes. The last couple years of its life, my DS Phat was shared between myself and several dormmates/housemates and used constantly. I doubt people were as nice to the battery as I was. The good news is that it doesn't take very long now to fully charge.

I got my 3DS on launch day. I've played with it about 30 hours.

I actually like the games it has. Could be better, but still good.

DSi: A month or so after it's launch - it came out a few days before my birthday.
3DS: Preordered on Amazon.com, got it the Wednesday after launch.

You can always try to attempt a battery "format".

Discharge the battery as much as you possibly can with your DS or a little light or whatever, wrap it in some towels tightly, then wrap it in a plactic wrap or bag to assure that it's fairly air-tight and put the battery in a freezer for anything between 24-48 hours. You should gain some battery life, but it will deminish back to the 20 minutes state overtime again.
