Hacking What's the difference between the 'old' and 'new' exploit on 7.55 hosts?

Karo's host, for example, gives you an option to launch the 'old' exploit versus launching the 'new' exploit. He mentions on his Twitter that he's ditching the 'new' exploit due to instability. That was the option that worked best for me, most of the time first attempt, too.
Just curious what the difference between the two is?
