PS1/2 What's the best modchip for PS2?

Modchip. I have a swap magic and the swapping, waiting 30 seconds, and then swapping pisses me off so now i'm off to get an auto-boot solution.

BTW I have one of the newer PSTwos (the fliptop one)

It won't burn out your laser unless you have a v12. Even then it wouldn't be the fault of the chip , it would be the ps2's fault. Sony fixed the problem in v13 and onwards.

i've had my ps2 slim (v14) since 2004 and it still works, it's only if you buy the faulty v12 ps2 slim then your laser will die out very quickly!

i have the v12, it explains the dead laser/lens syndrome, the diode fix only retard the syndrome for about 6months to 1 years then my lens will die again :\, i think ill contact sony for a replacement when i have time..


now about the chip...

Matrix Infinity all the way, altough the development is already ''dead'', the firmware 1.93 left no bug behind :\

If you ask me Matrix Infinity with firmware v. 1.93 is the best way to go. I've had a few different mod chips and this one is the best in my opinion.

where in the hell can you find a matrix infinity from a US reseller or one that can ship to US?

I just got a ps2 and cant find one anywhere

yeah memor32 memory card is the way to go now. you put the memory teams .elf onto the memory card with the usb hookup then put the memory card in your ps2 just like a norma memory card. instant mod.

i actually just came looking in this thread for modchip advice _because_ the memor32+memento combinations sucks, its not playing any games atall for me, i expect and hope their f/w will get better but right now its a huge waste of time for me... so i will be getting a modchip and soldering that badboy on instead

Anyway, back on topic, i have a PSTwo Slim v16 (SCPH-77003) and even after some research i am still not 100% sure of what chip supports it since there are conflicting reports, i have my eye on a DMS4Pro or Matrix Infinity, will those work for me, any other advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.
