Hacking whats going on here?

I used my big red DS, then I used a file that had pretty much the same name as the one you gave me, except it ended with DSi instead of DSL, i read on one of the other walkthroughs that you had to do that, now im gonna throw a game on here and see if it works

I'm glad I helped, but I'm confused now. The file that ends with "DSi" is supposed to be for flashing with DSis 1.3 and lower, while the lite flasher is supposed to be for flashing with the DS lite or DS phat. And for some reason, you used the one that ended in "DSi" in your phat DS and got it working.

No the DSi one runs on any acekard.
The DSL version has the ability to flash multiple carts without shutting off and does not work on a DSi.

Ok, that makes sense. so the "DSi" one is for regular users, while the "DSL" one is for people purchasing the Acekard in bulk? That makes sense.

I've also noticed that if you have a non-DSi, you can run the "DSL" file on any flashcart to recover a bricked Acekard (since it prompts you to eject your flashcart first then insert an acekard)

We've known about this for some time. It's been posted many times by various people, including in the update thread itself.

I also don't see why you've downloaded Normmatt's file, uploaded it to the SAME server, then pointing people to the file you've just uploaded. Then suggesting they wait while you upload the DSi file.

Sound's like you are trying to take someone elses credit to me, or you're someone obsessed with their own self importance.

I could delete it. I wasn't taking credit (I wasn't giving Normmatt credit either, then again he didn't make it). I was just seperating the 2 files because I thought it was a little confusing that there were 2 files inside and no readme. I also thought the "DSL" and "DSi" files were different. I just found out I'm wrong.

Normmatt didn't make it, and he didn't give credit either. He only said he got it from "some chinese forum".

At the end of the day, you jumped into a thread to offer assistance when you had no idea what you were talking about. What's worse, as tk_saturn has stated, you downloaded & reuploaded the fix as if it was all your handywork and then claimed to have helped OP fix his problem (after the fact)

I read this entire thread and got completely lost with your posts! I'm not even sure how you couldn't understand OP had successfully updated his AK2i, how he did it and why he used the file he did.....

edit: Oh, and this 'little gem' caught my eye:
