Hacking what tool to dump save from cart compatible with akaio

I have a save on original mario kart ds cart that I spend quite a bit of time on. Since now I have the acekard, I would like to continue to play it using the backup rom rather than the cart. Which tool should I use that will export the file and be compatible with akaio.
