what the hell is this box??

    i found this box in my basement and it boggled my mind a lot.

    it seems to fit in the "Monitor out" hole on my computer

    Seems like a connector thing that connects a VGA cable and a TV cable. Maybe it's a TV without a screen?

    Is there a sticker on it? maybe on the other side, while it might not say what it is, it could have some information like an FCC number of some sort.

    good idea. i just opened it and there was anumber so i googled it and found out it was a PHILIPS TUNER BOARD GBKC7.820.1757

    now i just need to find out what it's used for.

    I would indeed say it is a decoder, to decode the satellite or cable signal and to convert it to a VGA signal....
    It is a odd thing indeed, I haven't seen one this small though (have got something similar though, but it exits in SCART)

    Looks like a VGA-to-Coaxial converter to me... But the site mentioned above says it's a tuner.
