Hardware What options do I have with LU73377XXXX

My friend bought a Wii for Christmas without consulting me in terms of what options are available in terms of playing backups.

I looked on Wii Tracker with the serial LU73377XXXX but its showing up as:

We do not have enough information to determine what drive chip you have.

We do not have enough information to determine if your drive pins are cut or not.

Can anyone tell me if this is compatible with any ModChips out there?

LU73 will not play DVD-r.

You will need to use a USB HDD.

Best route is to softmod it.

If you wish to play DVD backups, you have two options: use the newest uLoader revisions (which allow DVD backups over USB DVD drives) or swap the drive for an older one.
