I Currently Have Wiigator's Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma w/002 Fix with all the proper CIOS (including DVDX), since ive been using the launcher since .01. The Wii system im using is verison 3.1U NTSC.

Now theres all these damn things new such as "Softchip, SoftMii, MiiWii, Preloader, BootMii, Menuloader, CSM, Starfall, CIOSCORP" with IOS and cIOS coming outta no where including this new GameCube Backup Launcher.

Can somebody give me a brief description of what the hell some of these things are and what i should do next, im afraid that ill install something thats incompatible with my system and its programs and ill end up with a trashed system.

Im in the same situation. I have The backup loader installed , the GC loader, and modified CIOS, IOS and mIOS. Oh, And the glorious preloader !

But some games and things just refuse to work, and Im getting lost navigating the homebrew channel cause of all the c**p in there.

Im seriously thinking of starting from scratch and using an all in one package, but dont know what to do either.

is starfall something that is recommended because of its recovery features of bricked systems?

starfall is not needed anymore, its been replaced by preloader and arcmod5

If I were in your position, I'd get Pre-Loader, and GC Backup Launcher.

Softmii is awesome, I personally highly recommend it: http://softmii.org/v2/

It uses various tools downgrade/modify/brickproof and replace 21 of the ios's in ur wii, making the back ups in the wii play through the disk channel.

MiiWii is same principle.

Softmii also allows you to install custom System menu themes.

1. Preloader and CIOSCORP, giving brick protection and backup launchinbg

2.CSM's, customizing your wii.

Softmii includes cIOSCorp, so you'll be able to play backups through the disc channel without any launcher
(and yes, Preloader is also included)

sounds good, will it play games ive already burnt for Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma? some of the games that i burnt i had to use those decrypting programs on some of the iso's

13. The game wouldn’t play!!
Either:
a)The ISO is bad
b)Your disc is bad
c)It needs a special IOS. Look around.
d)It is patched, run it using Gamma

would i be able to run both this SoftMii and Backup Launcher v.03 Gamma? or would the installation of softmii overwriting the items needed to run BackupLauncherGamma

yeah, they both run using different ios's.

this seems like a real pain in the a$$, all this menu customization isnt really necessary, all thats really needed is some sort of brick support and the GC loader

this GC backuploader thats incorporated into this softmii, is it "GameCube Backup Launcher 0.1 Xi"

also if i was to install Softmii, would i have to change the verison of my Wii, and what would i have to do in order to get my Gamma Loader back up and running.
