Hello,

when I open the homebrew launcher I see two version numbers on top screen. I want it to be up to date, is it?

My sdmc:/boot.3dsx is up to date (latest from official Luma3DS).
Why do I have two version numbers? What does they mean? What does the "-3" & hexdata (next to second one) mean?
I am noob about this.

Thanks in advance.

That's the latest version, not sure exactly what's up with the version number... Probably just they built it before making the git tag or something like that.

I think that the "v2.3.0" is the hardcoded (and correct) version number, "v2.2.0" is probably the latest git tag, not sure exactly what the "3" is, then the "g" might just mean git or so since b8a4b70 is the latest git commit.

that is because it problably becomes from the master branch, it has nothing wrong, it is just a beta :)
According to the official project page on GitHub (here) both 2.3.0 and 2.2.0 are marked as stable. And there are not any version between. Previous to 2.2.0, the latest one is marked as stable too.

@Pk11 is right, as you can see in the source code, the full version string contains both one hardcoded version (which is correct on this commit) but it also includes `git describe --dirty --always` output which shows current commit and tag. So it means they build the .3dsx before creating the 2.3.0 tag on git so `git describe` outputted last know tag which was 2.2.0.

TL;DR: left part is hardcoded version, right part is git describe output and they built it before creating the 2.3.0 tag.
