This has been something that has driving me crazy for awhile now. Of all the issues there could be with trying to run Linux on the Switch in the first place. If someone could possibly explain why audio is broken it would be much appreciated.

Somebody probably needs to add support for the Switch's sound card. So much stuff is supported by Linux because talented programmers add support themselves. It's not magic, it's lots and lots of dedication.

tbh the lack of audio is about the only thing putting me off from wanting to even touch linux on the switch. Either a lot of people don't care about audio, there's not that many people who use linux on the switch making it pointless, or there is something causing trouble that makes it difficult to get audio working. That's the way I see it.
I would think the introduction lakka.tv there would be more of a push to get audio but something must be wrong that is stoping this issue from being resolved

I'm sorry but I'm having a really hard time reading your sentence @Xathya . Here is the sentence rewritten in what I presume you ment but clearer English. Please let me know if it was what you ment.

"The hackers like Pluto explained at 34c3 that the lack of audio is because of a very complicated dsp engine that would take a long time to reverse engineer."
